Excursion on the Tour of York
Walk on York is a great way to experience the city, but as one of the oldest UK cities, you can miss some details, small oils and hidden attractions yourself. We strongly recommend booking a tour of York City with Yorktour. Excursions with small groups in York are necessary, because the streets and alleys are so narrow that you will not be able to hear or see your guide when you choose a large group (we witnessed it many times when passing these groups). This tour restricts groups of no more than eight participants, so you can relax, listen and ask questions without advance through 30 other tourists.
The York City Tour emphasizes 90 minutes, with the start of time at 10:30, and visitors will receive a postcard 2 pm and will make stops at sights such as Shambles, York Minster, Snickleways, Abbey St. Mary’s Abbey and more. This is the perfect excursion to York for those who are interested in the history and monuments of the city.
Yorktours also offers a similar private tour of York, which lasts two hours and can accommodate up to eight people.

Excursion to York Minister
York Minester is a must in York and there is no better way to explore one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe than with an excursion. There are two ways about it. All tickets for the entrance to York are valid during the year of unlimited entry and include access to free pedestrian tours through the Cathedral, led by volunteers. From Monday to Saturday, these free excursions work twice a day (usually around 10am and 15 pm). However, these tours are very popular and we have seen from 20 to 50 people who join each that makes it difficult to hear the leadership and ask questions. We even came back on separate days to try to catch a smaller group, but it was still stuffed! So, if you want you to be guaranteed a smaller group, we recommend that you order one of the extra excursions to York Minester.
Excursions are good for additional costs, as they allow you to explore the hidden spaces that are usually closed for the public, such as the Mason House, the House of Crafts and Crypt. You can also book a tour to climb the Central York Minster Tower – the highest point in the city – offering wide species! All excursions include a ticket to the cathedral, and since the ticket acts for one year, you can continue to explore the cathedral after the excursion or return another day.
